The Brief
(01)
Designing an internal brochure for Johnson Controls
The brief required delivering a marketing suite for an internal product launch using a pre-existing template system.
The deliverables included an 8-page product brochure alongside static and animated social media tiles. The main task was navigating the strict brand guidelines. Specifically their corporate colour palette and mandatory typography, while creating a clean visual layout that handled the technical content well.

The Challenge
(02)
The main complexity lay in the subject matter: an industrial chiller product.
I had to translate highly technical engineering concepts and dense copy into a cohesive, easily digestible layout, all while working within strict corporate brand guidelines and a challenging colour palette. The goal was to make heavy industrial equipment look clean, modern, and engaging.
Tools Used
Adobe InDesign: Used to architect the 8-page brochure layout and manage editorial typography.
Generative AI (LLMs): Used as a copy partner to translate complex engineering terminology and heavy technical data into clear, digestible, user-friendly language.
Brand Integration & WorkflowAdhering to Brand Guidelines: I applied the official Johnson Controls colour palette, asset libraries, and the Noto font family across all assets to guarantee absolute alignment with global brand standards.
Editorial Layout Design: While the brochure's front and back covers were structurally locked to the corporate template, I used my visual judgement to adapt the 6 internal pages in InDesign. I balanced the AI-simplified technical copy with strategic white space and curated lifestyle imagery sourced from Unsplash to improve readability.

The Learnings
(03)
This project was an exercise in brand discipline.
Operating within rigid corporate guardrails meant focusing heavily on layout hierarchy, type scaling, and motion to elevate the final output. Even when working with challenging inherited brand assets and a polarising colour palette, the final suite proved I can execute highly compliant, multi-platform campaigns that respect corporate identity while maximising visual impact.
