(01)
How do you distill a lifetime commitment into a series of screens without losing the heart of the adoption process?
As part of the Google UX Design Certificate, I was tasked with designing a mobile pet adoption app. To understand the current landscape and paint points, I conducted user interviews with adopters & veterinary staff and performed competitive research on established organisations, including the CSPCA, to identify gaps in the market and streamline the digital adoption journey.
I iterated across both paper wireframes and Figma to quickly map out the core flows before moving into high-fidelity design. Rapid sketching on paper allowed me to experiment with different layouts for the user interface, while Figma let me refine the digital spacing, micro-interactions, and component architecture for the final prototype.

Solution
(02)
Aligning human habits with animal needs before the first meeting.
I designed a mobile-first platform that prioritises genuine lifestyle alignment through an interactive compatibility quiz. By evaluating daily realities, like apartment vs country living or low vs high-energy schedules, the app filters out the noise to deliver highly compatible matches. Beyond the matchmaking core, the platform acts as an end-to-end ecosystem, centralising the entire adoption lifecycle into a single dashboard where users can curate their saved pets, manage documentation, and track physical meet n' greet milestones in real time.

Conclusion
(03)
This project served as a major turning point in my growth from a graphic designer to a systems-focused UX designer.
The Reality of Self-Editing
Early in the process, initial excitement led me down the path of scope creep. I found myself designing non-essential features like complex gamification elements and social sharing options before the foundational flows were even stable. The critical takeaway here was learning to separate my personal design ideas from the user's actual core needs.
Mastering Interaction & Trust
This project radically accelerated my technical execution in high-fidelity wireframing and micro-interactions. Diving deep into the appointment and scheduling flows proved that user trust isn't built on static screens. It’s built on functional details, like real-time form validation and distinct, responsive button states that make an interface feel intentional and secure.
